Q. Is smoking permitted?
A. All of our units and buildings are non-smoking.
Q. Is there a damage deposit?
A. Yes, a damage deposit equal to one-month’s rent is due when the lease is signed.
Q. Do all units have parking with heated plugs?
A. Units in Astro Hill Landing with direct to outside access have a powered parking spot right outside the front door.
Q. Who do I call for repairs and maintenance?
A. During office hours (Monday to Friday – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; closed from Noon until 2:00 pm), drop by the rental office; call 867-979-5558 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Q. Does Nunastar have onsite security?
A. Nunastar offers comprehensive security coverage with video surveillance covering the entire complex and on-site security coverage. For any security concerns, call 867-222-2909.
Q. How close are the schools?
A. Both an elementary school and a high school are a short walking distance away.
Q. Where do I get groceries?
A. Groceries are available at Ventures Market Place (next to Astro Hill Landing) and Northmart – both of which are a 5 minute walk from Astro Hill Centre. The QuickStop Convenience Store at Astro Hill Centre offers a variety of snacks, beverages and other grocery and convenience items.
Q. What amenities are at Astro Hill?
A. Astro Hill Centre is the home of the Frobisher Inn hotel, The Frob Kitchen & Eatery restaurant; the Caribrew Café and the Storehouse Bar & Grill. It is also home to the Quickstop Convenience Store, the NunaCash ATM, the Astro Theatre (first-run movies) and the Frobisher Inn Fitness Centre (open to the public with memberships available at the front desk). Q. Can I get the elevator locked off for my move?
A. Yes you can – contact the Nunastar rental office for more information.
Q. How far is the walk from Astro Hill to downtown?
A. It is a 5-minute walk to downtown. Iqaluit is a small town, so everything is a quick stroll away. For a longer walk, Sylvia Grinnell Park is only a kilometer outside of town.
Q. Are taxis available, and how much do they cost?
A. Yes. The price for a cab ride is $7.00 per person, per ride.
Q. Are there car or skidoo rentals available in Iqaluit?
A. Cars are available to rent through Driving Force, (867) 979-2088. For skidoo rentals contact Arctic Cat, (867) 979-6280.
Q. What animals can be found in and around Iqaluit?
A. Arctic hares, arctic fox, ptarmigans, ravens and snow buntings are common. In the spring, seals and walrus can be found in Frobisher Bay. To see caribou requires a trip further outside of town.
Q. What about polar bears?
A. It is rare to see polar bears in Iqaluit.
Q. Is there a place I can try northern food?
A. The Frob at Astro Hill regularly features “country” food such as arctic char and caribou, based on availability and seasonality.
Q. Is there dog sledding in Iqaluit?
A. Dogsledding tours take place in winter and early spring. One provider we recommend is Discover Dog Sledding, (867) 979-3808.
Q. Where can I buy Inuit art?
A. Several local stores have an impressive selection of Inuit art. In the evening, local carvers stop by the lobby of the Frobisher Inn and in The Frob restaurant to sell their wares.
Q. Where can I find a cash machine?
A. A NunaCash ATM is located in the lobby of the Frobisher Inn. There are several other ATMs in various locations around town in addition to full-service branches for RBC, CIBC and Citizens Bank.
